The International Kart Federation (IKF) takes pride in its long record of achievement as a governing body for the sport of kart racing. The KIC started working on creating a process and documents to allow companies to introduce engines in 2002 the process was completed in 2004. These homologation (official confirmation) processes were adopted by WKA, IKF and TAG USA. The concept is simple. If an engine manufacturer or distributor introduces an engine to meet your organizations platform, the engine’s parts and components must meet the approved specifications moving forward. This is beneficial for sanctioning bodies, engine manufacturers and importers.
